§ 11-9-20. Sale of matches.
(a) No person, firm or corporation that owns, manages or operates a place of business including vending machines shall knowingly sell, give or deliver matches to any child under the age of twelve (12) years. The owner, operator or manager of a place of business where matches are sold shall post a notice of this law conspicuously in the place of business in letters at least three-eighths of an inch (â ") high. Signs required by this section may be provided, at cost, by the department of health.
(b) Any person violating the provisions of this section shall be fined one hundred dollars ($100) for each offense.
