R.I. Gen. Laws § 19-13-5
§ 19-13-5. Bank holidays.
The director is further authorized to declare bank holidays with respect to any or all activities of any regulated institutions, whenever in the directorâs judgment a declaration is required by the public interest. A bank holiday declared by the director under this section shall have the same effect, with respect to banking activities, as the appointment or proclamation of a legal holiday under the provisions of § 25-1-1.
