R.I. Gen. Laws § 44-9-26
§ 44-9-26. Deposit by petitioner to cover costs.
The petitioner, at the time of filing his or her petition, shall deposit with the clerk of the superior court a sum sufficient to cover the costs of the proceedings as estimated by the court.
